The society has several vibrant sections, reflecting members’ special interests.
There are three publishing sections: Parish Registers, Record Series and Wakefield Court Rolls. These sections study and transcribe original documents, providing unique research tools for anyone studying the history of Yorkshire.
The other sections cater for anyone interested in particular themes in Yorkshire’s archaeology and history: Family History, Industrial History, Medieval, Prehistory, and Roman Antiquities. These each have their own lecture programme, excursions and publications, running some events in partnership with the main society or other local groups.
Section-only Membership is available.
The buttons on the left take you to section web pages, where you will find much more about their programmes and other activities. Please send any enquiries for sections direct to the section secretary, by email or in writing via Claremont.
